Likewise, we extend an invitation to enjoy Bazartes: art, music and design 2025, which will take place from April 14 to 16 at our Faculty of Arts. In addition, do not miss the traditional Manos de Oro fair at the Faculty of Law, Political and Social Sciences, where you will find a showcase of local and national entrepreneurial initiatives. And if you are looking for a plan to connect with nature without leaving the city, you must delight in the Orchid Exhibition, a classic of this season held at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.
And if for some reason you are unable to participate in person, Unicauca Estéreo offers you “Mysteries of FAITH: the stories that time forgot”, a special programming that intertwines information, culture and tradition by tuning in to 104.1 FM in Popayán, 93.6 FM in Santander de Quilichao, or listening online through the following link. From Monday to Wednesday, the day will begin at 6:00 a.m. with the live broadcast of Unicauca al Día Radio, whose University News section will tour a different University museum each day. At midday, the program Al Instante will be broadcast from different emblematic spaces of the city: Casa Rosada (Monday), Claustro de San Agustín (Tuesday), and the Artisan Showcase, Ciudad Blanca 2025, at the Hugol synthetic fields in the Bolívar neighborhood (Wednesday).
On Thursday and Friday, this same time slot will present little-known stories of our capital city of Cauca, such as the vault of the Museum of Religious Art, which only opens during Holy Week, the legend of the fire serpent, or the mummies of San Francisco. In addition, clips with historical facts about Holy Week in Popayán will be broadcast, reaffirming the station’s commitment to the dissemination of cultural heritage.
Finally, we extend a very special invitation for you to join us during the Procession of the Holy Sepulcher on Good Friday. In this traditional manifestation of faith, Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, Rector of the University of Cauca, will participate along with directors and students with the highest academic averages, carrying a banner. This is, without a doubt, an invaluable moment that fills us with pride as a university community in our beloved Popayán.
In conclusion, we encourage you to experience this season from a different perspective and to make the most of each of the initiatives promoted by the different institutions and organizations of the city; spaces that strengthen our shared feelings and contribute to the cultural, social and economic development of our region.
