Student from the Nova Iuris Research Training Group stands out with their presentation on conflict resolution

Research Training Group among the top ten in the 25th International Competition for Undergraduate Law Students.

For the second consecutive year, the University of Cauca stands out in the XXV International Competition for Undergraduate Law Students. This time, the research training group Nova Iuris ranked among the top 10 out of 150 participating research groups from across Latin America.

At the event organized by the Colombian Institute of Procedural Law in the city of Bucaramanga, José Fernando Cortés Hurtado from the North Campus, along with the other members of Nova Iuris, led by professors Silvia Romero Romero, José Ilario Núñez, and William Felipe Hurtado from the North Campus, presented a paper framed around the theme: “The Future of Justice Administration and Conflict Resolution Methods.”

The aforementioned paper is titled “Conflict Resolution Mechanisms in Colombia: A Salute to the Flag or the Future of Justice Administration?”, which ranked among the top 10 out of 150 submissions selected for the competition. As a result, student José Fernando Cortés Hurtado received the following awards:

  1. A scholarship for a postgraduate specialization.

  2. The résumés of the 10 semifinalists are sent to the leading law firms in the country.

  3. Two legal texts.

The Law Seedbed Competition organized by the Colombian Institute of Procedural Law is an academic event whose main objective is to promote research, study, reflection, and student contributions to identify innovative measures, transformative strategies, and improvements in procedural law and justice administration.
