Thank you for living our cultural experience: Popayán Ciudad Libro

With great enthusiasm and satisfaction, the seventh edition of Popayán Ciudad Libro concluded, an event that celebrated literature, art, and culture in all its diversity. For a week, from October 9 to 16, the White City was filled with words, ideas, and creativity, thanks to the participation of 10,300 attendees who made this event a resounding success.

From the organizing committee, we extend our special thanks to the 121 guests who shared their knowledge and passion for literature with the people of Cauca and southwestern Colombia, contributing valuable learning through nearly 130 scheduled activities.

From lectures and workshops to artistic performances, every moment was an opportunity to connect, reflect, and enjoy the richness of the written and spoken word.

This event not only strengthened the literary community but also planted new ideas and fostered a love for reading among all participants.

We hope this experience was enriching for everyone who joined us and chose to live it, and tell the story.

Popayán Ciudad Libro became, in 2024, a vital space for the socio-cultural development of our country.

We look forward to seeing each other again in the next edition, where we will continue exploring together the fascinating world of literature, the arts, and culture.

This event was led by the Vice-Rectory for Culture and Well-Being of the University of Cauca, in partnership with the Colegio Mayor del Cauca University Institution, the Publishing House of the University of Cauca, and the Cultural Agency of Banco de la República, Popayán branch.

It was also supported by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Knowledge; the Vice-Rectory for Research of the University of Cauca; and the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Cauca. It was sponsored by the transportation companies Translibertad S.A.S., Transpubenza Ltda., and Vino Caballo de Copas.
