The long-awaited moment has arrived: begin your path to study, in the second semester of 2025, at Unicauca

Until June 16, 2025, you have the opportunity to begin writing a new and very important chapter of your story: making your dream of becoming a professional a reality by embarking on a transformative path of growth at the Alma Mater caucana. Explore the academic offerings for the second semester of 2025 in Popayán and Santander de Quilichao, and get ready, because exciting news is arriving in northern Cauca.

It’s your moment! If you dream of studying at a public university, accredited for high quality and with nearly 200 years of history, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. The University of Cauca has opened admissions for the upcoming semester and offers many options for you, both in Popayán and in Santander de Quilichao. In the capital of our department, you can study programs such as Philosophy and Law (evening schedule), Anthropology, Geography of Regional and Environmental Development, and the Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnoeducation (daytime schedule). If you are a graduate of a teacher training school (normalista), you can apply for special admission slots to continue your education in the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Basic Education. And that’s not all! There are more than 37 programs available. In addition, we have excellent news: in Santander de Quilichao, for the first time, the Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnoeducation will be offered; a degree program that joins others such as Agroindustrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Modern Languages (with an emphasis on English and French), and Law (offered in both daytime and evening schedules).

Thus, for your admission process, it is important to keep in mind that if you come from a region without higher education institutions (such as San Andrés, Providencia, and Santa Catalina), if you belong to an Indigenous community in Cauca or to the Afro population of the Pacific region of Cauca, if you come from remote areas, if you are a victim of the armed conflict, if you obtained the Andrés Bello distinction, if you are a graduate of a teacher training school (normalista) from an institution with an agreement, or a high school graduate from any of the 13 municipalities in northern Cauca, we invite you to consult how to apply through the differential admission pathways. Remember: registering under any of these modalities does not automatically guarantee admission, so you should carefully read all the requirements at the link provided.

It is also important for you to know that the University of Cauca is one of the national-level institutions to which the “Yo puedo estudiar” Tuition-Free Policy, established by the Government of Colombia, applies. If you believe you meet the requirements, we invite you to review the available information and become familiar with the Operational Regulations. Keep in mind that this benefit is not granted directly by the University, but by the Ministry of National Education, in accordance with the regulations established for these cases.

On the other hand, if you are applying to programs such as Plastic Arts, Instrumental Music, or the Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnoeducation, you should know that these programs include aptitude tests; therefore, we recommend that you review all the information by clicking here.
