Home Planning Office

Planning and Institutional Development Office

The Planning and Institutional Development Office is the specialized technical body of the University’s central administration, serving as an advisory unit to academic and administrative units in the design, management, and coordination of planning processes, as well as in matters related to organization, monitoring, and control.

In turn, it promotes strategic thinking and, through the application of governance, becomes a reference point for decision-making regarding its work. Likewise, it is responsible for leading budgetary and economic planning in accordance with the needs of the different units, based on the assessment it conducts within the framework of budgetary principles and compliance with the institutional mission.

Objectives

Promote and maintain a culture of planning as the starting point for all management and operational processes of the University of Cauca at its different levels.
Maximize the effectiveness in the allocation of university resources and in processes and procedures to fulfill the institutional mission.
Lead the development of the different types of plans in accordance with its Institutional Educational Project (P.E.I.) and its short-, medium-, and long-term institutional projections.

Planning and Institutional Development Office

Guide and coordinate, in collaboration with the Vice-Rector’s Offices and other units, the development, monitoring, and control of the different types of strategic plans (Development Plan, Annual Action Plan, Anti-Corruption and Citizen Service Plan, University Planning Plan).
Design, follow-up, and monitoring of the Development Plan of the University of Cauca.
Advise academic and administrative units on the interpretation of the policies, strategies, and principles underlying the action plans.
Consolidate and monitor the Annual Procurement Plan.
Evaluate, from an economic perspective and in terms of compliance with the institutional mission, the proposals for projects, agreements, contracts, activities, and special services submitted by the different University units.
Perform the functions related to the University’s general budget in accordance with the provisions of the Financial and Budget Statute.
Adopt and update budgetary methodologies according to the requirements of the institution itself.
Manage the University Bank of Programs and Projects of the University of Cauca.

Coordinate the Integrated Planning and Management Model of the University of Cauca.
Coordinate the accountability strategy in relation to institutional management.
Lead the process of developing the Anti-Corruption and Citizen Service Plan, in coordination with those responsible for the different components.
Develop mechanisms for the implementation and updating of the University’s statistical and financial information.
Consolidate, structure, update, report, and publish the statistical information of the University of Cauca in the different information systems, based on the data provided by the academic and administrative units.
Carry out the activities necessary to keep the information on the University’s organizational structure up to date.
Lead the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and updating of the institution’s University Planning Plan.
Prepare architectural designs with preliminary structural dimensioning, when required, for the improvement, expansion, and rational and appropriate use of the physical infrastructure and its equipment, which must include the required technical studies, budgets, and approvals.
Manage general and technical information on the physical infrastructure as input for planimetric consultation and the required reports.
Submit the relevant reports related to the University planning system.
