Rudecolombia will continue under the leadership of a member from Unicauca

The Alma Mater will preside over the Network of State Universities of Colombia (Rudecolombia) for two more years; under this network is the coordination of the Doctorate in Educational Sciences, a highly important program accredited with High Quality, made possible through the combined efforts of ten public universities in our country.

The Rector of the University of Cauca, Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, has been re-elected as President of Rudecolombia and will lead this important network for a new term. The Council of Rectors, composed of the ten Colombian public universities that are part of this organization, unanimously confirmed the continuation of the University of Cauca in its presidency during an assembly held in Cartagena on February 27. Enrique Vera López, Rector of UPTC, will serve as Vice President.

“Due to the management and work we have carried out during these two years in the Presidency of Rudecolombia, I have been re-elected as president,” stated the Rector of Unicauca, adding with enthusiasm, “This is a recognition of the work we have done alongside the academic committee of the Doctorate in Educational Sciences. I proudly accept this commitment to continue advancing higher education in our country, as the doctorate program has a presence throughout the national territory.”

Likewise, another very special moment took place during this meeting: the University of Cundinamarca presented recognitions to two institutions approaching their bicentennial.

These are the University of Cartagena and our own University of Cauca, both celebrating 197 years of work, almost two centuries in which, through their efforts, they have established a legacy in the training of professionals who have contributed significantly to the country’s development and the transformation of our society.

Nothing makes us prouder than knowing that, through the contributions of our Unicaucano members, we can continue strengthening our educational system. Congratulations to our Rector, and best wishes for success in this new term leading Rudecolombia!
