Publishing Imprint

The University of Cauca Press is an area attached to the Vice-Rectorate for Research of the University of Cauca, whose purpose is to edit, publish, and distribute works that meet the highest standards of content and presentation across different fields of knowledge and creative production, organized into collections and series consistent with the mission-driven purposes of the Alma Mater.

The University of Cauca Press publishes works by authors both within and outside the institution, for circulation among key academic, educational, opinion-making, and general-interest audiences in society. This responds to the University of Cauca’s purpose of disseminating, for the benefit of society and the Institution, its research outputs and artistic and cultural creations, both from members of the University community and from external authors.

Editorial Committee

The Editorial Committee is responsible for evaluating and selecting, in accordance with the principles of efficiency, impartiality, and transparency, the works to be published under the University of Cauca Publishing Imprint.

The Editorial Committee is composed of:

The Vice President for Research, who shall serve as Chair.
The Vice President for culture and Wellness.
A member of the Central Committee for Score Allocation.
Two tenured faculty members of the University, selected for their academic, ethical, and professional qualifications, as well as their experience in the publishing field, whether as authors, editors, or members of editorial committees.

Functions of the Editorial Committee

Establish the Editorial Policy of the University of Cauca.
Create or authorize the creation, modification, or discontinuation of the collections and editorial series of the University of Cauca Press.
Select the works to be published by the University of Cauca Press.
Serve as an advisory body to the University of Cauca Press.
Advise the Press in the process of consolidating its database of reviewers and experts.

Recommend experts to collaborate in title and series management activities, as well as in the evaluation of works, whenever deemed appropriate.
Review and decide on requests for publication authorization in cases where the University of Cauca holds the economic rights to works produced by its employees and their publication is not carried out through the University of Cauca Press.
Perform any other duties inherent to the nature of its functions or related thereto.
