Institutional Accreditation

The University of Cauca highlights the importance of Institutional Accreditation as a commitment to the academic community and society, ensuring relevant education with high quality standards. It is a reflection of the continuous effort to educate professionals who contribute to building a better country.

What is Institutional Accreditation?

Institutional Accreditation is a process through which an institution of higher education is recognized for the quality of its academic programs, its organization, operation, and fulfillment of its social mission. In addition to assuring society that these institutions meet the highest requirements, this mechanism enables educational institutions to continually pursue improvement, with the aim of guiding their path toward excellence.

The University of Cauca, for its part, has a renewal of its institutional accreditation, supported by Resolution No. 6218 of June 13, 2019, issued by the Ministry of National Education for a period of eight (8) years. In this process, a favorable opinion was expressed by the National Accreditation Council.

The first time our University received this recognition was in 2013 through Resolution No. 3218 of April 5, 2013, granted by the Ministry of National Education. This recognition was granted for a period of six (6) years, giving it a distinguished position among the country’s higher education institutions.

Since then, work has been carried out to comply with the parameters established by the National Accreditation Council (CNA), which demonstrate the effort and work undertaken in the educational processes of our Alma Mater.

The University of Cauca has the responsibility of guaranteeing society the quality of its educational work, strengthening its strengths and taking advantage of its opportunities for improvement, aspiring to be not only a benchmark for academic excellence but also for humanity.
