What is High-Quality Accreditation for Higher Education Academic Programs?

High-Quality accreditation of an academic program is a process through which the Ministry of National Education, through the National Accreditation Council (CNA), recognizes the quality of academic programs offered by higher education institutions. This mechanism seeks to strengthen excellence in academic models, their phases, and methodologies.

For the University of Cauca, High-Quality Accreditation of its academic programs is not an end in itself, but rather a means for continuous improvement, which makes it possible to follow the path toward a culture of self-evaluation aimed at quality assurance. This allows the University to maintain its bicentennial historical trajectory of service to the region and the country, as well as its ongoing pursuit of excellence in its core functions, reporting to society and the State on the educational service it provides.

To date, the University of Cauca has thirty-eight (38) programs with High-Quality Accreditation, of which twenty-one (21) have renewed this accreditation, while seventeen (17) received this distinction for the first time.

The Faculty of Natural, Exact and Educational Sciences has achieved the highest number of renewals, with a total of seven (7) programs. Likewise, the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, together with the Faculty of Arts, obtained the highest number of accredited programs for the first time.
