Vice-Rectorate for Culture and Well-being

University of Cauca Listening Center

Since its creation in 2020 by a group of students committed to the well-being of the university community, the University of Cauca Listening Center has evolved significantly. Beginning as a response to the pandemic and student needs, it has transformed into a vital tool for student participation and university well-being.

Over the years, a solid structure has been developed to address student issues, both within the University and in a broader social context. This has been achieved through the implementation of strategies such as telephone support lines, training workshops, engagement with local communities, and the promotion of mental health.

The Listening Center has not only focused on the University of Cauca but has also extended its reach to communities and social processes, establishing itself as a network of support and solidarity. In addition, it has formed strategic alliances with external organizations and has become a space for dialogue, culture, and support, promoting care and mental health as fundamental elements.

In the year 2023, the Center seeks to become formally established as an investment project within the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and Well-being, with the vision of continuing to contribute to student well-being, strengthening social transformation, promoting a culture of peace, and creating a positive impact on society through dialogue, empathy, and inclusion.

The University of Cauca University Listening Center is a continuously evolving student initiative, committed to human development, university co-governance, and the construction of a more supportive and dialogue-oriented society.
