"Puedo Estudiar" Tuition-Free Policy
The “Puedo Estudiar” Tuition-Free Policy is an action area of the “University in your Territory” strategy. This approach not only seeks to eliminate economic barriers to access to Higher Education (HE), but also represents a commitment to the academic empowerment of the community.
The Ministry of National Education adopted this Policy in order to provide free access to higher education at public HEIs to the populations described below:
- Socioeconomic stratum 1, 2, 3, or without a stratum
- Indigenous population
- Rrom population
- Black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal, and Palenquero communities
- Conflict-affected population
- Population with disabilities
- Peasant communities
- Incarcerated population
- Groups A, B, or C of SISBEN IV, in any of their subgroups.
