Home Regionalization Center

Regionalization Center

The Regionalization Center was created through Higher Council Agreement 005 of 2013. It is the academic-administrative body through which the University proposes policies and guides, coordinates, encourages, promotes, and supports academic training, research, and community outreach activities, based on criteria of quality, suitability, responsibility, transparency, reliability, efficiency, and timeliness, at the regional campuses, CERES, and in the territories of Cauca where the presence of the University is required.

General Objective

Promote national unity, regional decentralization, and interinstitutional cooperation, with the aim of ensuring that the various regions of the country have the human resources and appropriate technologies needed to adequately address their needs.

Specific Objectives

Adopt as a regionalization policy the offering of programs relevant to the regions, as well as humanistic, scientific, and technical development aimed at fostering comprehensive education.

Strengthen the University’s academic units through the Regionalization Center by means of technical, undergraduate, cycle-based undergraduate, and graduate programs, as well as research and community outreach activities that enable the University of Cauca to connect with the regions.

Functions

Propose, coordinate, and coordinate all activities aimed at the development and consolidation of the University Regionalization System.
Guide and encourage the various academic units to design and develop technological education, full undergraduate, cycle-based undergraduate, and graduate programs.
Promote and encourage, within the academic units, the development of research, community outreach, and entrepreneurship activities.
Promote the creation of revolving funds and the generation of seed capital to provide momentum and financial sustainability to agreements and, in general, to decentralization initiatives in the regions.
Coordinate, together with the Academic Units, the pedagogical training plan for faculty members involved in regionalization.
Coordinate, together with the Office of Interinstitutional Relations, regionalization activities and projects that require support or coordination with international partners.

Coordinate, together with the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and Well-being, the cultural outreach activities to be carried out in the regions.
Promote strategic partnerships among public and private higher education institutions, and between these institutions and the productive sectors, for the development of teaching, research, and community outreach activities in the regions.
Advise academic and administrative units on the preparation and submission of programs and projects for the regions. 10. Coordinate with the Division of Admissions, Registration and Academic Control the student admission process for the programs offered in the regions.
Prepare, execute, and monitor the budgets for the programs offered.
Submit the required reports to the University authorities.
Perform any other duties assigned by the competent authorities.

Strategies

Gather the University with the departmental and municipal governments of each region and ensure an integrated approach across the different levels of education.
