The Faculty of Arts provides and strengthens, through education, the talent of visual artists, musicians, and designers, who will be the next generation committed to territorial peace through their respective disciplines. To this end, it is essential that students, first and foremost, become familiar with the University’s Student Regulations so that they are aware of their rights and duties and, likewise, foster respect for others and their social environment.
Social engagement is one of the mission objectives of the Alma Mater. Thus, through workshops, concerts, exhibitions, and various settings where the people of Popayán, businesspeople, and institutions come together, knowledge is shared and conveyed. This results in significant contributions to people’s quality of life and their environment, enriching cultural, aesthetic, and artistic possibilities, recognition of others, regional diversity, and the building of territorial peace.
Promoting regional integration through student and faculty mobility contributes to the development of new skills, knowledge, and cultural awareness that strengthen the University and the Faculty. It also contributes to the exploration of new areas at the professional, occupational, and personal levels for those who participate in mobility programs. In the case of students wishing to participate in mobility programs, they must submit a request to the Program Coordination, either to give presentations at national and international events or to pursue further studies at other Higher Education Institutions or Universities. In the latter case, the institution’s study plan must be submitted so that the coordination of the respective Program can assess its feasibility and determine which courses will be transferred as credits in accordance with the internal study plan. In both cases, the Faculty Council must issue the academic endorsement, after which the request is forwarded to the Office of Interinstitutional and International Relations (ORII).

The PermaneSer Program consists of identifying and monitoring the causes of student dropout in order to counteract it. In this regard, it provides four strategies to contribute to the Permanence and graduation of students. First, it conducts the characterization of first-semester students and provides psychoeducational workshops. Second, the Program goes directly to the Faculty to provide training on the services it offers. Third, it provides pedagogical training through counseling and workshops on areas such as mathematics, physics, reading and writing, and psychosocial support. Fourth, it provides socioeconomic support. In view of this, if a student wishes to request any service, they may go in person to Office 103 of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences New Campus or send an email to permanencia@unicauca.edu.co.
The Language Training Program (PFI) is responsible for offering four levels of English (B1), Portuguese, and Italian free of charge to students, faculty members, and administrative staff of the University of Cauca. To access this service, students must register through the SIMCA platform, go to 4th Street #4-113, or send a request to the following email address: coordinacionpfi@unicauca.edu.co. Students are advised to begin the language course from the first semester of their degree program.
