Dean's Office
The Dean’s Office is the office responsible for the academic and administrative management of a university faculty. The main authority within it is the Dean. The functions of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences are:
- Comply with and enforce within its unit the provisions in force and the orders of the Rector.
- Advise the Superior Council on the selection of faculty members, following consultation with the Council of the respective Faculty.
- Ensure strict compliance with the teaching and research programs of the respective Faculty.
- Impose or request the imposition of sanctions provided for in the regulations (Repealed by Agreement 069 of December 3, 2002).
- Establish class and work schedules for the faculty members assigned to the respective Faculty.
- Supervise the activities of faculty, technical, administrative, and service staff.
- Authorize the enrollment of Faculty students in accordance with the study programs and regulations, and endorse the corresponding certificates with their signature.
- Submit the budget of the respective unit to the Academic Council. Submit to the Academic Council the names of individuals who, in the opinion of the respective Council, deserve distinctions.
- Request the authorization of expenditures required by the respective Faculty. Perform any other functions established by the statutes and regulations.
