For the delivery of the results of the “Foreign Language Proficiency Tests – PSI,” we follow the guidelines established in Academic Agreement 021 of 2021, Article 20, which states the following in this regard:
Article 20. Results shall be delivered ten (10) business days after the date on which the test is taken. Requests for grading will not be accepted before the end of the ten (10) business days following the administration of the PSI. The PFI Coordination Office shall send the report of students who receive an equivalency or pass the PSI to the Admissions, Registration and Academic Records Division (DARCA) for the purpose of verifying compliance with the requirement and issuing the corresponding academic clearance certificate when the student applies for the degree.

Once I have taken the PSI, how long does it take for the result to be recorded in SIMCA?
Approximately five (5) business days after taking the test, we will send your result, individually, to each student at their respective institutional email address.
Likewise, for the Formal Registration in SIMCA of the results of the “Foreign Language Proficiency Tests – PSI,” we follow the guidelines of Academic Agreement 021 of 2021, Article 20, which states the following in this regard:
Can I enroll in courses from the Language Training Program through SIMCA?
Yes, the PFI academic offerings have been integrated into SIMCA, and students of the University of Cauca who are in the SECOND semester or above may enroll in the courses offered by the Language Training Program through the system. It is important to bear in mind that the Language Training Program – PFI, following the guidelines for promoting and guaranteeing the quality of second-language education and fostering communicative competencies at a B1 level according to the CEFR1, pursuant to the provisions of Academic Agreement 021 of 2021, unifies the conditions, characteristics, and regulations governing the participation of undergraduate program students in the PFI Program (B1), as well as the requirements and procedures for taking the PSI Test.
Therefore, it is necessary to bear in mind that:
The new PFI academic plan for the first level offered by this academic unit has an intensity of 6 hours per week, and the following levels will gradually be offered.
Students who began their foreign language training at A2 (4 hours per week) may continue to the next level, provided that enrollment in this level takes place for the 2024-1 academic period, subject to the PFI’s offering capacity.
Students who re-enter the institution for the 2022-2 academic period must follow the new PFI academic plan.
Students who began their language training at A2 may state in writing to the PFI Coordination Office their interest in changing to the new B1 plan and begin their training process from level 1.
What happens if I only have the Foreign Language Proficiency Test left to take?
Students with SISBEN Level A, B, C who wish to become beneficiaries of the tuition-free policy for the current academic period must, on the dates established by the institution, complete the academic enrollment process through SIMCA, registering the requirement “foreign language proficiency test-elective group”.
Registering the test in the academic enrollment does not exempt you from requesting a place with the PFI in the different calls made by this unit according to its capacity.
If the student requests academic enrollment after the established deadline (outside the academic enrollment dates), the full amount of the financial enrollment fee must be assumed.
