Regionalization Center

Cultural Management at the Northern Campus

This is managed by the Division of Cultural Management, an administrative unit that is part of the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and Well-being and is responsible for the preservation, research, promotion, and dissemination of the cultural heritage and artistic assets of the University of Cauca. Likewise, it is present at the Northern Campus through its Culture Coordinator.

One of its main purposes is to encourage, identify, make visible, and promote cultural activities and processes that involve diverse creative manifestations and expressions and actively engage the different sectors of the Alma Mater.

The cultural projects implemented at the Northern Campus in coordination with the regionalization system are:

Intercultural Dialogues

It is a space that brings together the different voices of the social groups that inhabit the territory to foster an understanding of social phenomena. This initiative consists of a main event and a series of preliminary dialogues. Within this component, the departmental meeting of cultural managers is held.

Quilichao Ciudad Libro

It is a university and city project that promotes the use of books as a tool for dialogue on topics related to the territory and the universe. Likewise, it fosters a culture of reading and writing in the city. This book fair is held in October and includes a pre-fair program aimed at developing audiences. Each year, its program is enriched with regional and national guests.

Artistic Expressions Program

It offers a range of extracurricular workshops aimed at the university community that complement their comprehensive educational process. Its offerings include workshops in dance, music, and theater; art, literature, writing and text editing; journalistic writing, narratives of memory, among others.

Likewise, together with the university community, it promotes the Festival of Arts and Cultures, a space that showcases the cultural expressions of our students.

Training Spaces

There are artistic activities such as laboratories and workshops in music, dance, oral storytelling, theater, muralism, and photography; in addition, there are new research training groups and representative groups that will proudly uphold the good name of the Northern Campus at various local, regional, and national events.

Cultura Alternativa

They are cultural research training groups for knowledge in which people who share non-conventional interests participate, as they foster creation and content, thereby bringing together people who enjoy anime, manga, comics, video games, among others.
