Tramas y Mingas 2025 Meeting

Organized by: Master’s Program in Interdisciplinary Development Studies and PhD in Ethnobiology and Biocultural Studies among the organizers.

The University of Cauca invites you to participate in Tramas y Mingas 2025, a space for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and encounters for life, which will take place on November 6 and 7 at the Francisco Lemos Arboleda Auditorium of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications and in the Courtyard of the Faculty of Accounting, Economic and Administrative Sciences.

Participants will enjoy a diverse program that includes thematic mingas, activities, workshops, and parallel exhibitions, through which experiences from communities, women, youth, boys, and girls who weave alternatives for good living through art, education, communication, and the care of life will be shared.

Thursday, November 6

  • 8:00 a.m. Reception and registration
  • Opening ritual and planting of the Biocultural Garden
  • Thematic mingas:
    • Children’s Minga: experiences such as SurGuagua, Ancestral Little Cooks, Children of the Páramo, and children’s research networks.
    • Youth Minga: art, inclusion, and youth processes from different regions.
    • Care Minga: women and territories safeguarding life and seeds.
    • 15 Years of MAEID Minga: talking circles about sowing, cultivation, and harvests.
  • Documentary premiere: Women from the Massif: A Community Ethics of Caring for Life.
  • Tribute to teachers.

Friday, November 7

  • 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Workshops and parallel exhibitions at the Faculty of Accounting, Economic and Administrative Sciences:
    • Emancipatory meanings and childhoods.
    • Anthotypes, home gardens, large chirimía band.
    • Artistic, photographic, and agroecological exhibitions.
    • Closing of the day with a Community Pot gathering.
